MINISTRIES & ACTIVITIES
We are privileged to have many people involved in ministries in the Church. God has given everyone gifts and talents which they can and should use in His service.
It may be that you know where your talents lie, and would like to know about opportunities to exercise these gifts within the framework of Findlay Church. On the other hand you may be unsure if you have a particular gift, but are keen to find out where God might have a place for you, so that you can develop a gift. DO YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
Some activities are governed by particular rules, most importantly the Youth work where only those who have been processed and cleared under the Child and Vulnerable Adults Protection Scheme can be considered.
Other Ministries obviously require levels of skill, such as music. We do however want to give opportunity to develop latent skills, so it might be that even with limited knowledge you may be able to be trained in particular skills.
The Church is dependent on a Team Ministry approach. We believe no one person has all the skills available to do all the work in maintaining an effective and God honouring work. We hope and pray that as you consider the options available, you will find the right place where God will be able to use you in His service and for the Spiritual benefit of the whole Fellowship.
Below is a list of Ministries and Activities that you may get involved in. The list is not exhaustive and if you feel you can help in any of these areas or if you have any other particular gifts which might be helpful then please use this form.
Bible Reading Notes - Distribution to members.
Bible Class - Bible study for secondary school ages during morning service.
Bumps and Bundles - Parent and toddler group.
Cafe (Sunday - Tues) - Help serve in our cafe.
Caretaker - Property Security and general duties.
Catering - Assist with preparation & serving refreshments after our Sunday evening, and other services.
Cleaning - Assist with the cleaning of the building.
Church Administration - Assist with the administration of the Church.
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) - Volunteer to help our CAP centre with its work.
Computer & Video Networks - Help run and maintain our computer and audio-visual networks.
Communion - Help with the preparation of Communion.
Crèche - Run during Sunday morning service.
Drop in (English Classes) - Help teach English to those who do not have this as their first language.
625 Club - Activity club for primary 1-7 school children.
Discoverers - Sunday school for 3 -11 year olds.
Findlay Family Network (FFN) - Become a volunteer to help in the community.
Flowers - Buying and or arranging.
Mission - Mission team member or go on mission work.
Music Ministry - Praise band and Choir.
News Sheet - Assist with news gathering or production of monthly news sheet.
Prayer - To become involved in the Prayer Ministry.
Property Team - Assist with the maintenance of the building.
Rock Solid - Christian based club for secondary school ages.
Small Groups - Become a host or leader.
Stewarding - General Stewarding duties during Sunday services.
Student Ministry - Assisting in welcoming, and student hospitality.
The Social - For 20’ and 30’s, this group meets for social events & fellowship.
Web Sites - Update or design Church web sites.
Worship Technical Teams - Computer using “Easyworship” or Sound desk.
