Discoverers
Who’s it for?
Discoverers is for all children between the ages of 3- 11.
When?
Every Sunday morning during term time from 10.45am – 12.15pm
What happens?
All children coming into the Church will be welcomed by one of the Discoverers team at the registration desk. This is situated in the entrance foyer. All children have to tick off their name before going upstairs to Room 1.
From 10.45 – 10.55am the children are able to play football, board games, colour in before going to join the grownups in the main Church downstairs. They stay for some singing and then either Lynn, Peter, Louise, Estelle or Mair will tell a Bible story that the children will be looking at in their groups upstairs.
What next?
Back upstairs for kids songs, memory verses, prayer and collection of the brown money. The children then go into smaller groups to talk about the Bible story and how they can get to know God better. The leaders make it lots of fun with games, work sheets and crafts.
Promiseland
On the first Sunday of the month, the children do not go into main Church at all but stay upstairs where they have lots of games and fun to begin with followed by the telling of a Bible story. Like in other weeks the children then split in to their groups
Other activities
A group of the older children have been tubing followed by a sleep over in the Church. Great fun!
Sometimes we have a picnic after Church in Kelvingrove Park followed by games and races.
At Christmas we have parties and a visit from Santa. Occasionally we get together in a leaders’ home for supper and a DVD.
There are usually activities organised for the holiday Sundays during the summer and through out the year.
