Volunteering with CAP
CENTRE VOLUNTEERS
The Findlay CAP Centre volunteers as part of the Support Team, play an important role in the running of the CAP Centre.
A member of the Support Team will always accompany the Centre Manager on Client visits. There is also the opportunity to befriend Clients in order to help encourage and support them as they work their way through often very tight budgets. If you feel you could help in this important area of the work, whether your gifts lie in administration, befriending, supporting the Centre Manager on client visits or in praying for both the Clients and the Centre, then please contact the Centre Manager who will be more than happy to meet and chat about how you can help and support this, often challenging, but worthwhile and rewarding work.
We welcome volunteers from the Church to support Clients through fellowship and prayer.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
CAP relies on donations to carry out this totally free service which is available to Clients. It is mainly donations from individuals in the form of one off gifts or becoming a ‘Life Changer’ that enables this work to continue. Being a ‘Life Changer’ would entail committing to giving an amount to CAP every month for as long or as short a time as you wish – and this doesn’t have to be a large amount as every penny counts with CAP!
All you would require to do is let the Centre Manager know you are interested, give your name and contact details and someone from CAP head office will contact you and obtain the relevant details to set up a Direct Debit. It’s as simple as that, and it doesn’t even need to be a large amount - £4 per month can make such a difference!
We call our regular givers ‘Life Changers’ because it is only with their help that we can offer people a solution to their debts and financial crises, changing their lives dramatically for the better.
Sponsored events are another way of supporting CAP e.g. sponsored walks, marathons, etc. Just let the CAP Centre Manager know when your event will take place and we can supply you with t-shirts (with CAP logo), forms etc.
